	JUL, 2011 SATURDAY IN DESIGN 2011 Special Lights is excited to announce our involvement in Saturday in Design for 2011, taking place in Sydney on the 19th and 20th of August. Our newly renovated showroom will be transformed into a gallery to show off the hottest new lighting products and trends from our European manufacturers. For the Saturday open day we're planning a celebration to welcome Masiero into our stable of brands. In the morning we'll be serving up le dolce vita with a selection of yummy pastries and barista coffee courtesy of Nespresso. In the afternoon we'll be picking up the pace with wood-fired pizza's and Italian wines. It's going to be a great event and we can't wait to see you all there. 	may, 2010 NEW DESIGNS FROM STUDIO ITALIA DESIGN Drawing on more than 60 years experience, Studio Italia Design offer the best in Italian design, innovation and production. From Russian Designer Dima Loginoff, comes the unique "Curl" collection. The design is based around a simple ribbon-like concept, with strands of lacquered steel being beautifully woven into the forms of traditional light shades and structures. Available in pendants, table lamps and floor lamps, the transparent nature of the fittings produce decorative twisted shadows on adjacent surfaces. As the excitement of August 1 fades into the background, we remind you of the awesome new European lighting brands and products we launched to the Australian design and architectural community that day – Hopefully delivering on our theme of ‘Fresh Produce’. - Studio Italia Design is a leading Italian manufacturer with new 2009 products displayed - Luce & Light is one of the fastest growing European LED manufacturers with a huge product range of superior quality <- Steng porcelain lighting has a unique translucent glow unlike anything else available - Roger Pradier French outdoor lighting provides a sophisticated designer alternative in exteriors - Design Services is a new option available to you when you want full end-to-end service Towards the back of the showroom we had the guys from 2010 Productions mixing up fresh fruit frappe's and then Cosmo's and Daiquiri cocktails flowed later on in the afternoon, Delicious pastries and pizza were also on offer for a light meal, All designers and architects received a summary info pack from us when leaving which provided an outline of some of the products and services we offer. A great day was had by all!
	1st august, 2009 SHOWROOM REFURBISHMENT - ROUND 2 As official participants at this years Saturday InDesign we decided to import and launch 3 new exciting brands. To allow these new lines to be displayed in our showroom successfully, we had to undergo another large refit and were able to capture the real essence these brands portray. Our outdoor area received the most change with Roger Pradier and RP Design taking up the majority of the space. Working with the bright colours of RP's ranges we were able to produce an area easily accessible and eyecatching to say the least. Keeping in line with our 'clutter free' look and feel, we were able to display much more product by installing additional 'bays' and keeping product separated by brand. Studio Italia Design has taken the front position, and Luce & Light to the left as you enter the showroom in Surry Hills. The outdoor area is toward the back of the showroom and the Murano Venetian Glass Chanderliers are not far away!

	August 2009 the pinnacle of led outdoor lighting LED was yesterday. IvyLight© by IP44 launches a new range of LED outdoor lamps. 	July/August 2009 Saturday Indesign Special Lights has been invited to appear in this years Australasian Premier Design Event. Saturday in Design is an annual trade event for the design community, taking place on alternate years in Sydney and Melbourne. It involves Australia's premier designer furniture, finishes, fixtures and lighting showrooms opening their doors on a Saturday to allow architects, designers, students and design-savvy members of the public to enjoy the product they specify, in a showroom environment. Saturday in Design has traditionally been an opportunity for local and international products from hundreds of reputed brands to be launched to thousands of members of the design community in one day.
	December, 2008 showroom refurbishment - round 1 Special Lights has recently undergone an extreme make-over. Our vision was to create a unique customer experience which differs from other showrooms in Australia. We took input from customers and our experienced design team to create a much improved shopping and browsing opportunity. There were 3 key principles we set out to deliver in our refurbishment: 1) Remove the cluttered feel often found in some lighting retail displays 2) Display an extensive range of product with realistic backgrounds and settings 3) Deliver a non-threatening comfortable browsing environment Completed mid November, we are very proud of the finished result. There are bays of products which are themed by brand or function for simple choice and comparison. It is easy and practical for our team to assist customers quickly by demonstrating solutions. Special Lights offers a variety of European brands with products spanning architectural lighting to decorative hand-made glass lamps.
